Marina Schmidt

Synopsis

The handbook highlights the importance of palliative care, which is increasingly present due to the ageing population.

The professional manual was created in collaboration with mentors and students of the Medical Faculty of the University of Maribor, the Faculty of Arts of the University of Maribor, Alma Mater Europaea - ECM and the Slovenian Hospice Association within the student innovative project for social benefit (ŠIPK). With the permission of the authors, the participants in the project translated the manual from German and prepared it for Slovenian instructors who expected additional material for field work from the very beginning.

Palliative care in Slovenia is slowly gaining its place and framework. Another important segment of its development is raising public awareness of the possibilities, areas of activity and the contribution of palliative care to ensuring the quality of life in the recent period. Additional material will facilitate the work and help answer many questions.
