Virtualni svetovi in vrednote digitalne prihodnosti
Synopsis
In his new work Virtual Worlds and the Values of the Digital Future, university lecturer and researcher Dr. Gašper Pirc explores current trends in technological development and evaluates them through legal, ethical, and social perspectives. In doing so, he raises key questions of the digital age, such as issues of internet law and moral standards in the digital environment, online violence, the ethics of artificial intelligence, the status of digital agents, and the internal structure of online and virtual worlds.
The book addresses very concrete problems of the digital era, such as the rise of often overlooked online violence, inadequate internet legislation, and the specific socio-political challenges brought about by rapid technological change at a time when knowledge, truth, and values are often being relativized. Particular emphasis is placed on understanding the ethical, technological, and social dimensions of the metaverse, virtual reality, and artificial intelligence—topics that are no longer confined to experts and artists, but are increasingly of interest to—and perhaps must concern—the broader public.
